Wendy Ann (Sleeth) Lucas

Wendy Ann Sleeth Lucas,52 passed away peacefully on April 14, 2022, surrounded by her family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer.

Wendy was born on March 15, 1970, in Akron, Ohio, to Wendall Tawney and Joyce Sleeth.  She lived in the Akron area her whole life, worked at the Chestnut Beer Garden and was a member of the Grace Baptist Church for 20 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents Wendall and Joyce, her sister Tracy, her brother Jeff and her niece Nicole.

She is survived by her loving husband Ted, her children Adam (Sara), Joseph, and Joyce, her sisters Jody (Carl), Sharon, and Nichole, her brother John, her grandchildren Payton, Amiyah, and Mohammed, numerous nieces and nephews, and her great-niece Kira.  She is also survived by her best friend Nikki.

Wendy was full of life.  She loved the Smokey Mountains and traveling with her husband.  She adored being a “Gigi” to her grandchildren and spending time with her sisters and children.  She was happiest when she was surrounded by people that she loved.

Friends and family may pay their respects at Grace Baptist Church, 704 North Firestone Blvd, Akron, Ohio 44306 on Monday, April 18, 2022, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm and Tuesday, April 19, 2022, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am.  Funeral service to immediately follow at 11:00 am officiated by Pastor Bob Stephens, followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the 5th floor hospice nurses at Summa City Hospital.  Their kindness and compassion during Wendy’s final days was truly a blessing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lucas family.
