Steven “The Rev” Motich was born February 27, 1978 in Barberton, Ohio, but would claim Kenmore as his true home. He left behind his beloved wife of 12 years, Sarah, and his greatest joy- his daughter, Evie. He loved his mom, Kathy, and his sisters so much. We can’t mention everyone here that he cared for- because there are too many names to write. Steven loved his whole family deeply and his friends were family to him. He loved people well and so many people loved him. He served with a selfless heart. Steven was a peacemaker, provider, so smart, gentle, social, wise, funny, a confidante to many, creative, an artist, a music connoisseur, a proud subversive, and a great hugger. Steven loved Jesus, K-town, and First Glance. He fought a hard fight and is now at peace in the arms of his Savior and he can finally rest.
Steven is preceded by his father Bob Rummer, sister Tonya Abbott, uncle Tom Gipson and aunt Leona Gipson. He will be deeply missed by his wife Sarah Motich, daughter Evie Motich, mother Kathy Rummer, sisters Vicki (Ted) Lamson and Anna (Matt) Rains, mother & father-in-law Lana and Dano Koehler, brother-in-law Scott (Heather) Koehler and sister-in-law Emily (Matt) Baughman, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, S-Block family and many other friends.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at First Glance Student Center, 943 Kenmore Blvd., Akron. A Remembrance of Steven will be held also at First Glance Student Center on Saturday at 4:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Kevin Burkholder.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to benefit Sarah E. and Evangeline K. Motich. Please make checks payable to the “MOTICH FAMILY TRUST of August 3, 2017.”
