Scott A. Kanis, 57 of Akron passed away on August 24, 2020. He graduated from East High School, class of 1981. He worked for Joseph Industries for 35 years. He loved his family first and foremost. He was a member of Indian Guides with all three of his boys for many years. He was an avid fan of the Browns, Indians and Cavaliers. He loved music and going to concerts. He loved fishing and riding his motorcycle. Scott was full of life and made friends easily. He is going to be missed by so many people.
Scott is preceded by his parents Ted and Lela Kanis and sister Kris Kanis. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Mary Kanis, sons Cory (& Amanda) Kanis, Andy (& Tonya) Kanis and Theo Kanis (& Emily Baker), grandsons Jaxson and Levi, sisters Marcia Kanis, Pat (& Tom) Wolfe, Connie Price and Heidi English, brothers Ted Kanis and Rick (& Kathy) Kanis and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Prentice Funeral Home, 1154 Kenmore Blvd. on Saturday September 5, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. officiated by Rev. Michael B. Smith followed by inurnment at Manchester Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
