Ronald Speck Obituary

Ronald Speck, 65, of New Franklin passed away on March 29th, 2024. He was a graduate of Manchester High School, Class of 1977. He retired after over 25 years as a Local 310 construction laborer. Ron was a dedicated and hard worker.

Ron had a passion for many things, including music. For over 30 years, Ron was a vocalist in several tribute bands, including Aftermath, Morrison Hotel, and Fillmore East. He is most remembered for his role in the Doors tribute band Morrison Hotel. Ron loved to perform, and will always be remembered for his stage persona as Jim Morrison.

Ron had an interest in cars, and enjoyed taking the Jeep he built for rides in the summer. Most recently, he was working on turning the ‘55 Chevy he bought in 2007 into a hot rod, which had been a dream of his. Another hobby of his was collecting vintage beer signs and beer glasses. Ron’s unique personality made an impression on everyone he met!

Ron is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Cecil and Flora Speck. He is survived by his only daughter and his pride and joy, Cecilia Speck, brothers Dave and Dan Speck, a sister, Leona Cook, and lifelong friend Dan Hickman, and many other friends and family.
