Richard "Rick" Hessler Jr. has passed away after living a wonderful life of 67 years as a devoted husband of 45 years, loving father for 43 years, and adoring grandfather for 14 years. Rick passed away early Friday morning among the company of his family. A peacetime veteran, Rick served America in the Air Force (Minot AFB) and Air National Guard (Otis ANG Base) for 6 years. Rick was an avid train and model train enthusiast, enjoyed sports and auto racing, and loved to travel. Through that love, he provided his family with unique experiences, sharing gems that often went unnoticed by the less attentive. Rick’s passions would become his children’s passions.
Rick leaves behind his wife Michelle, children, Richard and Christina, daughter-in-law Tricia, brothers, Jim, Ken, and Tom, sister-in-laws, Phyllis, Linda, and Elaine, nieces and nephews Michael, Kelly, Jamie, Kristen, and Erin, and grandchildren Ava-Marie, Lily-Anne, and Cordelia. While cancer may have prematurely ended his life, it did not take away his life nor the influence of the love, wisdom, and endless patience he imparted to those who were fortunate to know him.
He now joins alongside his beloved baby sister Joanne who passed away from him and his family 54 years ago. Rick has left us too soon and will be greatly missed.
