Dean Chappelear Obituary

Dean Chappelear, 95 of Akron passed away on December 20, 2020. He retired from Babcock Wilcox and enjoyed golf, bowling leagues at B & W, antiques and tinkering and fixing things.

Dean is preceded by his wife of 62 years Lois Evelyn (Handa) Chappelear, son Lowell Eugene Chappelear, 2 sisters, 1 brother, son-in-law Jim Little and grandchildren Melissa Copen and James Little.  He is survived by his daughters Cheryl (Jim) Ellis of Cuyahoga Falls and Helen Kaye Little of New Franklin, brothers Harold Heaton and Gail Heaton, sisters Edythe Davis and Joy Hooper, grandchildren Meredith (Steve) Mullett, Lowell Eugene (Erica) Chappelear, Daniel Eberly and David (Alicia) Eberly, great-grandchildren Randy (Addy) Miller, Elissa (Javier) Godinez, Rachel (Logan) Lane, Max Mullett and Joseph Myers and four great-great grandchildren.  

Funeral services will be held at the Prentice Funeral Home, 1154 Kenmore Blvd on Monday at 2:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Jim Ellis, followed by entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends an hour prior.
