William K. "Bill" Sawders, 86, of Akron, went to be with Jesus on October 21, 2016. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. Bill retired from the U.S. Post office in 1987 and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon and sang in the choir. Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Roxie Sawders; daughters, Patricia (Charles) Peterson and Peggy (Dan) Hunton; sister, Ruth (Bob) Sparks; brother, Robert P. (Mary Ann) Sawders; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many other "adopted" children and grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 820 White Pond Dr., on Saturday at 1:30 p.m., officiated by Pastor Aaron Furman and Kent Jarvis, where friends may call from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Private burial on Monday at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
