Obituary

Wallace W. Fort "Wally" Wallace W. Fort "Wally", 100 years old, passed away suddenly on March 6, 2015 due to complications of age. He was born in Alabama to Moses Walter Fort and Luella Cameron and later settled in New Franklin, OH. He was a WWII veteran of the 2nd Armored Div, serving tours in Africa and Italy. He was retired from PPG Chemical in Barberton and recently received his 60 year pin from the Grand Masonic Lodge. He also was a long time Hall of Fame member of the National Birmingham Rollers Club (NBRC), raising and training roller pigeons. His NBRC friends remained close throughout the years and when he was no longer able to attend the pigeon meetings, they brought the meetings to him. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Leona M. (Adamson) Fort; brother, Hollace Forte; sisters, Meathyl Barlow and Connie Klien; stepson, Cecil Speck; and nephew, David Forte. Wallace is survived by his daughter-in-law, Flora Speck; grandchildren, Leona Cook, David Speck, Danny Speck, and Ronnie Speck; six great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren; nephews, Michael Forte and Rick Barlow; and nieces, Jackie Barlow, Carolyn Schenk, Gwen Doggart and Annetta (Jack) Brown. A Memorial Service, Masonic Service and military honors will be held at the Prentice Funeral Home, 1154 Kenmore Blvd. on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., officiated by Jack Brown Jr. Friends may call from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
