Sharon A. Simmons, 62, went home to be with the lord on Monday, October17th, 2022, after a short illness at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory,NC.Sharon lived in West Virginia, Florida, and Ohio before moving to North Carolina in 2009. Sharon loved to go fishing, traveling to the SmokyMountains and spending time with her kids and grandkids.

Sharon is preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years Duane Ralph Simmons, her sister Janice Archie and brother Chris Dye. Sharon is survived and loved by sisters Patsy (Ralph) Bechter, Donna (Carl) Thompson, Mary (Norman) Talbert, Lois (Tony) Archie, brothers Arnold Dye, Michael Dye, Richard (Vicky) Dye, and Terry Dye, children Tina (Harry) Oshell, David (Tim) Simmons, and James (Victoria) Simmons, and grandchildren Makenzie Kay Oshell, Jaxon Oshell, Alayna Simmons, James Simmons, Jr., and Austin Simmons, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be at the Prentice Funeral Home, 1154 Kenmore Blvd., Akron on Monday, October 24, 2022, at 12:00 p. m., officiated by Don Bolich.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.   Calling hours will be Sunday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
