Robert L Birch, Sr., 88, of Barberton passed away May 12, 2016. Robert will be joining his wife, Joyce, in heaven along with his brothers, William, Gerald, and grandson, Matthew. In the younger years of his life Robert was a Marine, joining at the end of World War II, and actively serving during the Korean Conflict. He later became a member of the Bricklayers Local #7 Akron which provided him the skills and know how to start his own family business. Robert had a passion for his family, gardening and traveling. Mr. Birch is survived by his six children; Denise (Mike) Clark, Becky (Bruce) Robinson, Melanie (John) Monteleone, Robert L Birch, Jr., Michael D. Birch and Matthew (Gretchen) Birch; as well as his brother, Fred (Karen) Morehead; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Robert's family and friends will be celebrating his life at the Prentice Funeral Home, 1154 Kenmore Blvd. on Friday at 11 a.m. with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. All family and friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
