Dick was a proud Navy veteran and shared many, if not all, of his memories of those days with family and friends. He had a fierce love of flying and was able to obtain a private pilot's license. Two of his many hobbies were gun collecting and traveling.
Dick worked at Lawson's Milk Company for 33 years in refrigeration. After Lawson's, he worked and then retired from Wadsworth/Rittman Hospital in their Maintenance Department. Dick, who was not one to sit around, became a bus driver for the Wadsworth School System.
As a proud veteran, Dick was a member of the VFW Post # 1089, American Legion Post 170, Eagles Post 2117 and Wadsworth Moose Post 2070. He also served as a Veteran Chaplin.
