Ralph Eugene "Gene" Hollingsworth Ralph Eugene "Gene" Hollingsworth, 87, born January 4, 1928 passed away peacefully January 15, 2015. Gene lived in Akron all of his 87 years. He was a graduate of South High School class of 1946. He was the proud owner of Hollingsworth Grocery Store on Victory St. in Kenmore and retired from Tasty Pure Foods. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Mary; and sons, Paul and Les Hollingsworth. He is survived by daughter, Jody Hollingsworth; daughters-in-law, Kathy and Deborah; granddaughters, Leslie (Brian) Powell, Laura Canada, Danielle (Matt) Gaugler, Melissa Hollingsworth and Mary Hollingsworth; sister, Carolyn (Mike) Lenenski; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Prentice Funeral Home, 1154 Kenmore Blvd. with Rev. Scott Carr officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
