Mary was born on January 28th, 1928, in Stanton, Virginia. She was called home on April 16 to be with our Lord and with her loved ones who preceded her which include her loving and devoted husband of 42 years, Robert Paul Anderson, who passed away in 1994; her mother, Ruth Simpson Underwood; father, Harry Leonard Simpson; stepfather, Homer C. Underwood; three sisters, Trudy Kugler, Nancy Drouhard and Betty Simpson; two brothers, Edmund Simpson and Clyde Simpson; and Mary and Robert's first baby girl, Mary Roberta.

She raised a loving and caring family that she leaves behind: Becky D Harpold (Che'), Cleveland; David B Harpold (Jan) , Arizona; Robert S Anderson (Cathy), Wadsworth; Lori R Anderson, Uniontown; Daniel K Anderson (Angela), Malvern; Eric W Anderson (Kim), Deerfield. Mary also leaves behind 17 grandchildren who called her Bubba, nine great grandchildren who knew her as Great Bubba, and many other close family friends who called her Mom.

Mary moved to Akron as a child and made that her home for the duration of her life. She worked at the Akron Police Dept. for 13 years, and then in the accounting dept. at the Firestone bank where she retired after 37 years. Mary was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing cards, games and working jigsaw puzzles with her family, and also loved visits with family and friends, especially during the holidays.

We would like to thank all the medical staff at Canton Christian Home for the exemplary care that was given to our Mom from when she arrived until her passing.

Funeral services will be held at the Prentice Funeral Home, 1154 Kenmore Blvd., on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Chaplain Lyn Houze, followed by burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Donations, if desired may be given to the Canton Christian Home in the name of Mary Anderson.
