Mary Jane Abbott (Arthur), 83, of Green, Ohio passed from this life on October 22, 2017. She was born in Norfolk, Va. on April 12, 1934 to the late Paul and Lucille (Pence) Arthur, but grew up in Walton, W. Va. in the home of her grandparents, the late Ovie C. and Dona Pence. She graduated from Walton High School in 1952, moved to Akron, and married her high school sweetheart, Joe Early. Mary Jane was employed by McNeil Machine for 35 years as an Order Supervisor. She had a beautiful voice, and was a kind and caring person with a keen mind, which was sharp as a tack to the end. She loved animals, especially her pet chickens, antiques, and collecting. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Joe Early Abbott. She is survived by children, Amanda-Joyce Abbott and Debra Leonard (Robert); grandchildren, Wendy Quesenberry (Tim), Sarah Cassady (Chad Boocher), Samuel Cassady Glunn (Ellie), and John-Michael Roberts (Moriah); great-grandchildren, Avery and Justin Quesenberry; and sister, Barbara Nelson (Richard). The family wishes to thank the health care professionals of SUMMA Hospice for the excellent care and support they provided. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, October 26 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, (206 Beauty Street, Spencer, W. Va.). A private graveside service will precede the interment at Fairview Memory Garden in Clendenin, W.Va.
