Karen L. Phillips (Bosak), 70, of Akron, passed away peacefully June 6, 2024. Preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Steve, parents, Andrew and Selma Bosak, and in-laws Bob and Anna Phillips, Karen is survived by her son, Andy (Michelle), daughter, Jenny (Scott) Thomas, grandchildren, Lexi, Niko, and Paxton, and her brother, Bill Bosak, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Born January 25, 1954, in Akron, Karen graduated from Akron South High School in 1972. After high school, she resided in the area all her life working for Firestone Tire & Rubber Company and Sterling Jewelers. Karen was a lifetime member of the Akron Baptist Temple, where she taught Sunday School for over 30 years. Karen enjoyed spending time with her kids during their many activities, volunteering with the Akron Area Soap Box Derby for over 15 years, crocheting, and gardening. After retirement, Karen enjoyed relaxing at home, cuddling up with her cats, and watching old westerns.
Friends may call Tuesday, June 11 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Prentice Funeral Home, 1154 Kenmore Blvd. in Akron. A memorial service with Pastor Mike Prebynski will follow the visitation
