IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janet Beverly
Bodner
April 21, 2019
With great sadness we share that God opened his heavenly gates for our earthly angel Janet Beverly Bodner (Stranathan) so that she could be reunited with her husband, Charlie, that she married 64 years ago. He awaited her with open arms along with their special buddy Pee Wee. Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully in her home on Easter Sunday, April 21st, 2019. Janet also rejoins her parents Robert and Lucile Stranathan.
Janet taught those around her how to love and be kind, but she could never prepare us for the heartache we feel now that she has left us. We are blessed and forever grateful that we had her in our lives. She will be missed and cherished forever. As we carry her in our hearts, we hope to make her proud as she watches over us.
She is survived by her loving, caring, devoted family. This includes her brother Hugh (Eileen) Stranathan, and Janet's six children, Sharon Erwin, Charles Bodner, Diana (Jim) Klein, Nancy Bodner, Timothy Bodner, and Michael (Anna) Bodner. She also has six grandchildren, Kristopher (Brandi) Mitchell, Ryan Erwin, Megan (Kenny) Scheck, Daniel Klein, Lauren and Rachel Bodner as well as two great grandchildren, Ellie and Annie Scheck, and niece Sandi.
During her time on this earth her family was the most important thing to her and she loved spending her time with her children and grandchildren, and they loved spending time with her. Janet had the most caring, kind, generous, thoughtful, sweet, gentle soul. She showed this by being the most beautiful person inside and out. Her precious memory and personality will live on in those she loved and shaped during their lives. She loved unconditionally and showed everyone how much she cared for them.
Janet grew up and resided in Akron for her entire life. She frequently would take trips with her family and gave them memories they will never forget. From a young age she loved reading books, she enjoyed collecting teddy bears, celebrating holidays, and going on family vacations. Janet retired from J.C. Penney after working at the Rolling Acres Mall location for more than 30 years. While working there she developed several lifelong friendships. She brought joy to everyone's life she touched.
I love you my beautiful mother and best friend forever and ever. My life will never be the same without you and I look forward to our next hug and kiss. You will always be in my heart. Your loving daughter, Nancy xoxo.
