James C. "Jim" Berres was born October 28, 1944 in Mequon, WI to Oliver & Margaret Berres and passed away on December 29, 2022 in Akron, OH.  He was the oldest and feistiest of five kids.  He served in the U.S. Army as a drill sergeant and graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Oshkosh.  He lived in Florida for the last 17 years and he loved to fish, go to antique car shows, his Green Bay Packers and working the water taxi.  His favorite thing was spending time in Marathon Key.

Jim is preceded by his parents Oliver & Margaret Berres.  He is survived by his daughter Cindy (Ron) Pavlovich, son Paul (Alexandra) Berres, grandchildren Ashley, Madeline, Nathen, Nate, Lydia and Grayson, great-grandchildren Bennett and Dawson, sister Joanne Fritz, brother John (Beverly) Berres, Jerel (Claudia) Berres and Joe (Lori) Berres and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Grace Church, Bath Campus, 754 Ghent Rd., Akron on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. officiated by Pastor Todd Shoemaker.  The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
