Harold E Smith, 87, of Wadsworth passed away December 29, 2016. He was a member of Victory Lodge No. 649 F. & A.M., Tadmor Shrine and the Ohio Bell Pioneer Club. Harold grew up in Millersburg, Ohio. After graduation he enlisted in the Army and served during the Korean war. He then moved to Akron where Harold, wife Rachel, and their two children lived in the Kenmore area. After retiring from Ohio Bell he lived for 16 years in Garden City, S.C. where he worked as a barber and volunteer firefighter. Harold and Rachel enjoyed their retirement years living at the beach and traveling internationally. Harold was preceded by parents, Paul and Pearl Smith; wife of 58 years, Rachel; sister, Dorothy Knittle and brother Bill Smith. He is survived by daughter, Cindy (Steve) Oyakawa; son, Paul (Lisa) Smith; grandchildren, Jennifer Coles, Michelle, Amanda and Kevin Oyakawa, Aaron and Devan Smith; great-granddaughter, Leah; and sister-in-law, Sally Smith. Private family services have already taken place.
