Gerald "Jerry" Wilson, 86 of Akron, passed away on January 14, 2025. As a young man, he enjoyed the rodeo and barrel racing, winning many trophies. He was a weight-lifting and softball enthusiast, but especially loved riding his Harley with his wife. He owned and operated The Rose Lounge for 35 years and after retiring mowed grass at Firestone Country Club for about 10 years. Later in life he came to the Lord and was eager to share the joy that he had found.

Gerald was preceded by parents Lily and Joe Wilson and brother Melvin Wilson. He is survived by his wife Claudia of 32 years; children Cindy (Don) Selzer, Kim (Bryan) Howdyshell, Brad Wilson, Jerry (Lynn) Wilson; stepchildren Brian (Patty) Smith; Scott (Olivia) Smith, Mike Smith, Steve (Patti) Smith; 19 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Gloria Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Prentice Funeral Home, 1154 Kenmore Blvd. on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 6:00 pm.  Calling hours will be from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
