IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dove D
(Wilmoth) Wellner
September 10, 1921 – May 10, 2024
Dove Wellner died on May 10, 2024, at the age of 102. She was born September 10, 1921 in Billington, West Virginia. She was the daughter of Harvey and Elizabeth Wilmoth. She graduated from high school where she played basketball and enjoyed being in school plays. Dove was voted prettiest girl in her class but never let that go to her head.
Following graduation, she moved to Akron, Ohio where she married Willie Carson, who preceded her in death. Then she married Donald Wellner, who also preceded her in death.
Dove worked for B.F. Goodrich for 45 years where she only missed one week of work in all that time. She lived in the same house for over 60 years in Akron. It was the same house that she and her first husband purchased. In her retirement years, she would go to Florida during the winters. In the summers she loved planting flowers in her yard so much that the City of Akron gave her awards for 10 years straight in recognition of how beautiful she kept her yard.
Dove was a self-made lady from humble beginnings. She worked hard, loved to "dress to The Nines" on Saturday date nights with her husband. She never took what she had for granted. Dove will be missed but we will celebrate her legacy she left us. Our biggest joy is knowing she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. Dove is more alive today than she has ever been. All glory and honor to our Lord Jesus Christ!
In addition to her husbands and parents, Dove was preceded by five sisters Mazel, Mabel, Martha and Marion, and Billie and three brothers Bud, Roy and Gail.
Dove is survived by her beloved daughter Nancy and her four grandchildren Tanya, Mark, Ronalee and Blossom. Dove also leaves five beautiful great-grandchildren Cassidy, Connor, JT, Daniella and Carson along with many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
A special thanks goes out to her nephew Ronnie Spahr and her neighbor Debbie Queen. They both never forgot to send her cards for every occasion.
At the family's request, Dove's service of remembrance will be private.
