Obituary

Ann Katherine Mauk (Sens) TOGETHER FOREVER Ann Katherine (Sens) Mauk, 92, passed away January 6, 2017. She was born in Barberton on May 3, 1924 and lived most of her life in Kenmore. She attended Akron South High School and worked at Goodyear Aircraft as a "Rosie the Riveter" during World War II. She received numerous "Beautification" awards from the City of Akron for her flower gardens. She enjoyed going out to eat and completed many of the Summit Metro Parks' Fall Hiking Sprees well into her seventies. She was preceded by her husband, Woodrow; parents, Frank and Anna (Gorog) Sens and four brothers, Frank, Joseph, John and Emery. She is survived by daughters, Donna (Jim) Fleming of Green, Patricia Mauk, Mary (Tom) Sowers, Sandra (Wayne) Unger all of Akron and Connie (Chuck) Hall of Atwater; grandchildren, Ann (Mark) Billetz, Tom (Gretchen) Sowers II and Jackie Unger; and great- grandchildren, Elizabeth and Gabrielle Billetz. Dear Daughters, If I could give you one thing in life, I would give you the ability to see yourself through my eyes. Only then would you realize how special you are to me... (author unknown) We would like to thank the staff at Barberton Manorcare and Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service for the kindness and care they provided to Mom. Funeral service will be held at the Prentice-Conley Funeral Home, 1154 Kenmore Blvd. on Wednesday at 1 p.m., followed by burial at Lakewood Cemetery. Friends may call TODAY from 4 to 6 p.m.
